Alserkal Public Washrooms(renovation)
Designed as an extension of the larger spatial language of the Alserkal Avenue district, the project explores how even the most utilitarian spaces can carry identity and intent. This is a study in elevating the everyday through detail, proportion and atmosphere.
In a place where grey warehouses become sites for new ideas, we approached the public washroom as more than a purely functional space, treating it as an installation. Through attention to detail, proportion, and atmosphere, the project aims to create a considered and engaging experience that invites interaction, play, and memory. Metal stalls, ablution (وضوء) spaces, recycled sponge mirrors, and a palette of repurposed materials are integrated as part of this approach.
